ich freue mich, Ihnen einen Gastvortrag von Adrian PALKA PhD, Senior Lecturer an der University of Coventry, am Dienstag 6.11., 10 Uhr G IV 0.15 im Rahmen der Lehrveranstaltung WKb 18 Europäische Kulturgeschichte ankündigen zu können. 25 Years ago I wrote my master’s thesis on, "Kulturpolitik und  deutsch-polnische Versöhnung in der Grenzstadt Goerlitz/Zgorzelec." Is was not long after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and European integration was the theme of the day. The arts and culture were to be its vehicle. Inspired by the writings of Gunter Grass and Hermann Glaser my research and artistic practice explored the cultural coordinates of the new post-cold war reality. Today, Brexit undermines all this – this lecture will revisit this thesis and go on to discuss selected cultural/political responses to open borders in the UK. The lecture will be given in Germish.
