Efficient Tool Integration with OpenDIP

On November 13, 2013 Max Wielsch and Raik Bieniek from the Saxonia Systems AG presented the topic of their master's thesis at EAD lunch. In the talk it has been demonstrated, how easy and efficient the development of new software development tools based on the idea of the open development integration plarform OpenDIP can be realized.

The software development process and its supporting tools have been subject to changes during the recent years. Today, agile process models are establishing continuously and tool vendors are providing tools suites and platforms reaching a better integration. Is this level of integration sufficient to realize tool environments perfectly adapted to single projects? The talk implies the need for an enhancement of the current integration technology.

This is approached by OpenDIP and will also be subject of a presentation at the 2013 IEEE/SICE International Symposium on System Integration in December 2013. Having pizza together, many invited students and university employees discussed integration issues and approaches together. In upcoming student projects the OpenDIP ideas will be pushed forward further.
